It’s a story that touches me a lot. Unlike traditional storytelling like a large paragraph of text, this project would more like to tell the readers about the story of homeless kids through pictures and more concise text. The author records the daily lives of two homeless children, from living in a very crowded room that needs to be shared, to the long-distance journey to school every day, and then to the school’s daily life of the school…Certainly, the author did not want to tell this story straightforwardly, like how hard these children are. But through photos and short text, readers are more impressed by their stories, which may achieve better results.
I like the way they tell this story. I feel like it is an excellent example of combining technology and content. When more and more people tend to read information online or on mobile devices such as smartphones, this form of storytelling can catch more people’s attention. However, it is not to say that all storytelling in this style can be defined as successful works. Personally, I still believe that the content is more important than layout and web design. In other words, I think the reason why content needs to combine with other stuff such as layout and ads are all for the better dissemination of the content, that is to say, the content is the main body. If the content is not good enough, it isn’t significant, no matter how good other things are. Compared to the many gimmicks in the world, how to ensure the authenticity and effectivity of the content, and how to use better ways to spread a good content to more people to help our society make progress, I think these are some questions that people should think about.
The growth of homeless kids is what we need to care about. Children are the future of a country. Whether they are homeless or not, they should have the right to receive an education. For homeless children, they need government housing and food subsidies, and some encouragement from school. We should embrace these children more, both spiritually and materially. And we need to encourage them that do not give up and always be a happy, kind, and knowledgeable boy/girl.
